Weekend Wine Experience
Explore the unique characteristics of our grape varieties, visit the terroir and the winery, learn to identify the aromas and flavours with guided tastings, and discover the essence of Barrosinha’s wines, always accompanied by our resident oenologist.
We added a cosy stay, breakfast, dinner with wine pairing, lunch with Cozido Alentejano at the Taberna, and a snack with Bucha Alentejana to celebrate the handing out of the diplomas.
INTRODUCTION to BARROSINHA WINES
Our resident oenologist will guide participants on an immersive and sensory experience through the universe of Barrosinha wines, exploring their history, the grape varieties and the practice of identifying aromas and flavours.
The Barrosinha wine initiation will be split into two sessions: the first will take place on Saturday and the second on Sunday. At the end, there will be a question and answer session and diplomas will be handed out.

Saturday’s session
We begin with an introduction to the history and legacy of the estate, emphasising the importance of the terroir and the local grape varieties that give rise to its wines. This will be followed by a guided tour of the vineyard, allowing you to explore the unique characteristics of the region, and a visit to the winery, where you can learn about the winemaking process up close. To round off Saturday’s session, a Bucha Alentejana will be served at Taberna da Barrosinha.
Sunday’s session
Sunday will include a sensory session dedicated to introducing the concepts of primary, secondary and tertiary aromas, complemented by practical examples using wines from the estate. There will also be a flavour wheel, allowing you to identify the aromatic elements present in wines of different profiles. This will be followed by a workshop on tasting techniques, where you can taste a selection of wines – from whites to reds and reserves – accompanied by tips for harmonising them with typical dishes from the region. We’ll conclude with a moment of sharing at Taberna da Barrosinha, with a lunch of Alentejo-style Cozido and the awarding of diplomas.

BARROSINHA'S STAY AND GASTRONOMY
Enjoy your stay at Barrosinha to explore the estate and discover our local cuisine.
We combine the wine introduction course with a relaxing stay in our rooms or villas from Friday to Sunday. Breakfast is included. In the hotel restaurant, we serve a special 3-course dinner paired with Barrosinha wines. In our Taberna, we serve lunch and a regional snack.
